The DHT11 is a low-cost digital temperature and humidity sensor for Arduino and Raspberry Pi projects. It uses a capacitive humidity sensor and a thermistor, and sends a digital signal on one data pin, so no analogue input pins are needed.
Key Features
- Digital output on a single data pin
- Humidity range: 20% to 90% RH (0 to 50°C, with temperature compensation)
- Temperature range: 0 to 50°C
- Humidity accuracy: ±5.0% RH
- High reliability and long-term stability
Using the Sensor
New data is available once every 2 seconds, so readings can be up to 2 seconds old. Reading the data requires careful timing, so use a library for your board.
